SAVANNAH - Marion Keith Burk, 87, died February 20, 2009 at Candler Hospital. He entered God's kingdom peacefully surrounded by family and friends.
Keith Was born January 7th, 1922 in Torrington Wyoming. He served in WWII as a B-17 pilot in the Eighth Air Force. Keith was stationed in Savannah where he met Anne Yarbrough, dec'd 2006 and they were married after the war, in 1946. After graduating from University of Colorado he was hired by General Electric, in Schenectady, New York and retired in 1984 with 35 years as an Electrical Engineer.
After returning to Savannah for retirement, Keith and Anne enjoyed traveling to visit relatives and friends around the country. He had an interest in all things and was an avid reader, enjoyed his computer, and considered himself the oldest 'blogger' in town. He enjoyed reading and discussions on current events, alternative energy, and his own spiritual enlightenment. In recent years his membership in the Unity Church enriched his life. His loving heart, positive attitude, faith in God, and willingness to persevere are his greatest legacies.
He is survived by son Alan Burk and his wife Kelise of Seattle, Washington and three grandsons, Dustin, Michael and Max Burk; daughter Deborah Scott and her husband Ian of Savannah; two sisters in Colorado and a brother in California, along with many nieces and nephews across the country.
A Memorial Service and Life Celebration will be held on Saturday, March 28th at 11:00am at Unity of Savannah.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Courtyard Fund at Unity Church, 2320 Sunset Blvd.; Savannah, GA 31404.

I am very sorry for your loss. I read the obituary on Mr. Burk in the newspaper today. He reminded me a lot of my own father, who also was a B-17 pilot in WWII and loved to talk politics/current events. Mr. Burk represents another 'hero' that our Country has lost from the 'Greatest Generation'. I know he was a very special Man. Again, my condolences.
