Dear Shiver family, I send my sincere condolences. Even though, I did not know Tate personally, I met him several times through the Coffee Bluff Marine Rescue Squadron various activities. My next door neighbor, Ed Smith, spoke so highly of Tate and I was truly impressed when I finally met him. He was so jovial, quick-witted and very kind. It is certainly my understanding that Tate has now moved to heaven and is reaping his rewards along with my late husband, Donald. I bet they are fishing and having the best time ever - cooking up some fish with Jesus, on a beach somewhere! I am praying for your entire family as you begin your grief journey and adjustment to life without Tate. God bless each of you. Sincerely, Virginia Love (Coffee Bluff M.R.S. Ladies Auxiliary).
- Virginia Love, Savannah, GA
May it comfort you to know that when Tate took his last breath on earth; he took his first breath in Heaven. RIP Tate

Tate your spirit lives in each of us today and forever. We will always remember the good times on Barbour Island GA and the love you had for; us, fat-lighter to start the cozy fires in the winter, the salty air, the sound of waves crashing on the shore, running into each other on golf carts, and the love for our country. You rest now and know we all will take good care of Terri. We miss you so much already... Love Tom and Liz
