WILSON "GENE" BROGDON

Wilson "Gene" Brogdon 91, died Monday, March 16, 2009 at his residence.
Gene was a born in Twin City, Georgia and was a longtime resident of Savannah following his Military career. He was retired from the United States Marine Corp after 30 years of service. He also was retired from Union Camp after 25 years of service. Gene was a member of Ardsley Park Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and music director for the Seniors.

Mr. Brogdon was preceded in death by his son, Kenny Brodgon, his daughter, Linda B. Edwards and his sister, Audrey B. Waggoner.

Surviving are, his wife, Frances Brogdon of Savannah, his daughters, Carole B. Highsmith and husband, Jerome of Broxton, GA., Diana B. Rosengrant and husband, Rick of Tunkhannock, PA., Glenda B. Williamson and husband, Will of Richmond Hill, step-daughters, Madelyn Myers and husband, Martin of Savannah and Phyllis Smith and husband, Donald of Savannah. Also surviving are his sisters, Ann B. Wipperman and Shirley B. Nelson both of Colorado; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, one great, great grandchild, several nieces and nephews and a special friend and caregiver, Margie Williams and husband, Andy.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 18, 2009 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, March 19, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel with burial in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
