Laurence H. Prachel

Laurence Harold Prachel, 98, died Wednesday March 25, 2009 at Azalealand Nursing Home under the care of Hospice Savannah. Mr. Prachel was a native of Rochester, New York and a longtime resident of Savannah. He was retired from Eastman Kodak after more than 40 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose L. Prachel.

Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and David MacBride, of Pooler and Shirley and John Lyzwa, of Rochester, N.Y., two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerold and Joanne Prachel, of The Villages, Florida, and Ronald and Rosemary Prachel, of Mocksville, N.C. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren.

A Memorial service will be held Sunday, March 29, 2009 at 3:00 p.m., in the Hodgson Chapel of Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors with visitation one hour prior to the service.
