Paul C. Steenrod
Tybee Island- Mr. Paul Clark Steenrod, 81, died Monday, March 30, 2009 at Tara at Thunderbolt Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Paul was a native of Ohio, raised his family in the Atlanta area and retired on Tybee Island alongside his loving wife of 56 years, Dorothy. Paul was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, the American Legion Post 154, veteran of the United States Army as a paratrooper in Japan and retired from Delta Air Lines.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Ennis Steenrod; daughter Angela McCurdy and husband Randy, son Joe Steenrod and wife Julie, daughter Christine DeBorde, daughter Laura Mabe and husband Mike. Also surviving are sisters-in-law Barbara Anderson and Loretta Adair and husband Larry; twelve grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and an adopted brother David Doyle.
Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 1, 2009 with a vigil service at 5:30 p.m. at the Islands Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors.
Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 2, 2009 at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Reverend Thomas Peyton, Celebrant.
Burial: Ash Branch Church Cemetery.
