Savannah- Stacy LaRue Broeils Pickard, 34, died Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Hospice Savannah, Inc.
She was born in Charlotte, NC and lived in Savannah for the past eight years. She was a 1993 graduate of Sun Valley High School in Monroe, NC and later graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a degree in Sociology and Psychology. Stacy worked as a benefits administrator for both Gulfstream Aerospace in Savannah and DBS Direct Broadcast Systems in Charlotte. She was a member of Wilmington Island Presbyterian Church where she taught vacation bible school and sang in the choir.
Survivors include her husband, Bradley "Scott" Pickard; children, William Scott Pickard and Patricia LaRue Pickard of Savannah; parents, Ralph W. and Sharon Broeils of Savannah; sister and brother-in-law, Ashley and Paul Marion of Flat Rock, NC and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Celebration of Stacy's life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Wilmington Island Presbyterian Church. Graveside services will be private.

I will see you again someday and hold you as I did so many years ago. This verse was a favorite of your Grandma Broeils, in the good times and the tough times. Stacy, I miss you so much. In the dark of the night when I can't sleep I think of you. Your whole family misses you. We are all healing somewhat from having you taken away in 2009. I lost my job in 2010 and had to move from Savannah to Knoxville for work. You would be so proud of you kids and your hisband. Brad is doing such a fine job raising them. Will is in Cub Scouts, Patti is in dance. Both are in school and are such good students. Your Mom is doing fine. She carried you before you were born so there is an extra special tie to you. I love you so and always will. We had the kids for a couple of weeks this past summer and had such a great time. They are so well behaved and smart. Brad is such a wonderful Daddy and does so much for the children. My heart constantly aches but I don't say much except to Sharon. People get tired of hearing it and they have their own lives and issues as well. I now understand folks who have lost children. This will be a hole in my soul until I pass and see you again. Your Mom is so good and I know she hurts too. She is my rock and the love of my life. We are spending Christmas with Brad and kids. There is so much I can say about my time or times with Stacy but yet at this moment i feel strangly unable to find the words to say anything. I am going to miss her more than anyone could know. But i also know that all I have to do is just close myeyes and there she is. In m;y prayers i say thanks everynight that i go to know her and be as close as we were. Even my daughter remembers her and wishes she was here. I know that this sounds melodramatic...but she is and will always be my little sister..I LOVE YOU

My children and my husband have enjoyed all of the stories and memories I have shared with them over the past years about Stacy. The kids have especially enjoyed watching Will and Patty through pictures the last year. Stacy taught me so much especially in her final months. She was so proud of her family. My family will always remember our heart shaped sticky note on the bathroom mirror that reminded us daily to lift up Stacy in our prayers. My daughter and I talked about Stacy often and what a wonderful person I remembered her to be in school. The simple mention of her name brought sweet memories of a smiling, happy, kindhearted person. She will be dearly missed and our sticky note will stay on the mirror as a reminder to continue to pray for your family.
