Susan Heaton Smith
SAVANNAH – Susan Heaton Smith, 92, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2009. She was a long time resident of Isle of Hope. She was born in St. George, SC and lived most of her life in Savannah. Susan was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Emery C. Smith, Sr., daughter Carolyn S. Flamer and son Jeffrey J. Smith, brother George T. Heaton, and sister Ida H. Tedder.
Survivors are four children, Emery C. Smith, Jr., Lee H. Smith, Tim T. Smith and Amy E. Smith, all of Savannah, and a brother, Ben Heaton of Metter and their spouses. There are also several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2009 in Bonaventure Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Odyssey Health Care, 5105 Paulsen Street, Suite 225-D, Savannah, Georgia 31405.
