Born in Wayne County, GA, Mary Swindell was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Mercer, her mother, Leila Abbott Mercer, and her son, Henry Deron Swindell
She was a member of Eastern Star and of Windsor Baptist Church of Savannah, GA
She is survived by her son, Gerald Royce Swindell Kathy of Merritt Island, FL, her grandson, Justin Royce Swindell of Savannah, GA, her granddaughter, Jordan Leigh Murns Josh, her great-granddaughter, Samantha Ann Murns of Savannah, her sister Corine DeLoach of Jessup, GA, nieces and nephews, and dear friends.
Memorial services will be held Friday, May 1, 2009, at 1:00 o'clock in the afternoon at Windsor Forest Baptist Church with The Reverend Rick West officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts to the American Lung Society.
Charlie and I wish to express our condolences to Mary's family. She was a dear friend and neighbor for many years in Ray City. She often referred to me as her 'private secretary' when the need arose for my notary skills. Mary loved her children and family so much and I'm sure she will be greatly missed by them.
