Gloria Mallard Fischer
September 20, 1928 - May 30, 2009
Gloria Mallard Fischer, 80, died Saturday, May 30, 2009 at her residence with her family by her side. She was a native of Savannah and was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and a former member of the Savannah Golf Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Fischer.
Mrs. Fischer is survived by two sons; John R. "Bob" Turner and his wife, Andrea, of Rincon and Morton "Vic" Turner, III and his wife, Karon, of Savannah, one daughter; Sharon "Shay" Chesser and her husband, Winston, of Metter. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Mallory Turner, Lacey Turner, Jamie Turner, John Turner, Amanda Turner, Chris Chesser, Kelly Chesser, and five great-grandchildren, Dillon Turner, Lilyth Turner, Sara Morgan Turner, Hunter Turner, and Lucy Turner. She is also survived by one brother, Jack Mallard, of Statesboro.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 1, 2009 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
Burial will be in the Church Garden.
