Savannah – Carole Jean Chafin Kieft, 73, died June 2, 2009 at Candler Hospital. Mrs. Kieft lived most of her life in Savannah. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church where she was former secretary. She was preceded in death by her son, Ray Williams.
Surviving are her husband, Wayne O. Kieft of Savannah; son, Christian M. Kieft, Sr. of Savannah; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Don Clanton of Charleston, SC; grandson, Christian M. Kieft, Jr. of Savannah; two nieces and one nephew.
Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 4, 2009 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.
Funeral: 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 5, 2009 in the Islands Chapel of Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors with The Very Reverend William Willoughby, III, officiating.
Burial: Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.

Dear family, I was so sad to hear of Carole's death. It's been a long time since we were in high school together but she and I were in the same graduating class of CHS in l953. I remember her as a kind sweet girl. I have seen her a H.S. Reunions through the years. May God give you all the peace that only He can give at this time. My thoughts and prayers are with you,
