Francis  McNairy

SAVANNAH – Francis Dalton "Skeeter" McNairy, 65, of Savannah, Georgia, died June 2, 2009 following a brief illness.

He moved to Savannah in 1972 where he became known as a prominent antiques dealer and devoted dog owner. Historic preservation was his special interest.

Survivors include his mother, Evelyn Ayers McNairy of Greensboro, NC; sisters, Julia McNairy Thornton of Sanibel, FL and Joan McNairy Bass of Asheville, NC; brother, Robert Walton McNairy, Jr., of Sanibel, FL; eight nieces and nephews; and eight grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, June 5, 2009, at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

Funeral Services will be handled by Forbis and Dick Funeral Service in Greensboro, NC.

Remembrances may be made to the Telfair Museum, 121 Barnard St., Savannah, GA 31401 or to the Savannah Humane Society, 7215 Sallie Mood Dr., Savannah, GA 31406.
