SAVANNAH - James Drew Oliver, 57, died at Candler Hospital Wednesday morning, June 3, 2009. He was survived by his best friend and loving wife, Marilyn Blair Carmichael Oliver of Savannah; one daughter, Claire Elizabeth Oliver of St. Louis, MO; parents, Harold G. and Betty Jo Oliver of Kingwood, Texas; sister Linda Oliver of St. Louis, MO; brother Guy Oliver Diane of St. Louis, MO; sister Beth Powell Gene of Kingwood, Texas; and nephews Brandon Oliver Candice, John Cooperman and Brooks Powell.
Drew was well known in Savannah throughout the yachting industry and was an avid golfer. He never met anyone he didn't like and had many friends throughout the Southeast and Gulf Coast.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations in his memory to the Leukemia Society.
Cremation arrangements are being handled by Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors and a memorial service will be held in his memory at its chapel at 7200 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2009.
