GUEST BOOK

Aunt Charlotte was my Godmother, dear friend, and a source of inspiration to live life to its fullest everyday. She loved big, laughed big and shined bright for all in her presence. My favorite memories with Charlotte were on the porch at Blowing Oaks, taking in the salty breeze with laughter and great conversation. She also made me my first daiquiri! Thank you Aunt Charlotte for being such a wonderful force in my life. I am so happy Baby James got to experience your love. I will always be thankful for you! My love always!

- Shelly Arcand Allen, New Orleans, LA

Dearest Michael, I am so saddened by the loss of Charlotte, she was a bright and shining light that loved you dearly. I know you will miss her terribly her but now that she has arrived there will be no tears in Heaven!

- Sue Bristow, Savannah, GA

Charlotte lived next door to my daughter. She was always so kind and thoughtful, and I would always enjoy talking to her. A beautiful lady, with a beautiful smile

- Gail Malcolm, Tybee Island, GA

Charlotte and I were roommates in 1971 and 1972 when we both worked at Family and Children Services in Savannah. We last saw each other just two months ago sharing our friendship and fondly remembering wonderful times in Savannah. Charlotte loved her family, her friends and her life. I'll remember most her generosity, her enthusiasm, her adventuresome spirit and that wonderful laughter. 'What we have once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes a part of us'. Goodbye my friend.

- Carol Burch, Colorado Springs, CO

In the end, it's not what riches you have amassed , but the lives you have touched along the way. Our deepest sympathy.

“We are standing upon the seashore. A ship at our side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. We stood and watched her until at length she hung like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other. Then someone says: “There, she is gone!” “Gone where?” Gone from our sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left our side and she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port. Her diminished size is in us, not in her. For just at the moment when someone said: “There, she is gone!” there were other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout: “Here she comes!” Author Unknown Charlotte was larger than life to so many of us. She had the capacity to share herself completely with everyone she met and you were left wanting more. She was an unforgettable and an irreplaceable original. We are left to cherish those amazing moments we spent with her not with sadness but with the joy of having had her touch our lives. To honor her let us all do our best to “pass her forward”. Let’s be to others what Charlotte was to us; a good and true friend, ever loyal, ever giving, ever loving, ever gracious, and always encouraging us to live life with gusto. She has sailed on to a new shore and yet another chance to share her amazing soul with those who now greet her. One day she’ll greet each of us too.

- George and Nancy Troficanto, Pooler, GA

Charlotte came into our lives only a few years ago and we are ever so grateful that we got to know her and be welcomed as part of her extended family. She was filled with warmth, smiles, and sincere vibrant energy. My parents - John and Charlotte Goodling from PA - are so glad to have been able to spend time with Mike and his great circle of friends in Georgia, and especially be part of the warmth that Savannah Charlotte welcomed them into her gracious world. Although we may not be there in person to share the celebration of Charlotte's life, be certain that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

- Andrea Goodling Heilman, Dover, PA

Although my family and I only met Charlotte for the first time this past February, we all felt as though we had known her a very long time. She was a true 'southern belle'.
