Berniece Austin Williams, 97, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2009 after a short illness. Mrs. Williams was a native of Swainsboro, GA, but lived most of her life in Savannah, GA, until moving to Virginia to live with her daughter and son-in-law. She was a member of White Bluff United Methodist Church in Savannah.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Nelson Austin, her second husband, Charles E. Williams, her 22 year old grandson, Gregory Scott Bush, her parents and four brothers.

She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter and son-in-law, Lynda & Harold Bush, grandsons Michael Alan Bush of Yorktown, Douglas Wayne Bush of Newport News, David Nelson Bush and wife Tonya of Poquoson, VA, great grandchildren, Dyllon, Jaime, Daton, Cory, and Tyler, sister-in-law Betty Thompson of Savannah, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 23, 2009, at Fox & Weeks Funeral Home, 7200 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park immediately following the service.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation and thanks to the staff of York Convalescent Center, Yorktown, for their compassion and care of Berniece during her time there.
