GUEST BOOK

Donny, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I did not know Mr. Fears but knowing you I'm certain your Father was a wonderful man and blessed and proud to have such a kind and caring son of your character. Deepest sympathy, Mickey

- Mickey Neidlinger, Springfield, GA

Mr. Fears is a Father-in-Law that everyone would wish for. He is an outspoken Christian who 'walks the walk' and does so with gentleness and humility. He is kind, loving, generous and a true southern gentleman. I use the word 'is' because he still 'is' very much alive, more so than he ever was here, and these Godly characteristics of his remain with him today in heaven! I am personally grateful to know Mr. Fears and the Fears family especially my wonderful husband, who is like his Dad in so many ways. I am thankful to the Lord for taking him home in such a peaceful way. It was an answer to prayer -- ours and Mr. Fears' own prayers to 'go home.' He will be sorely missed but we know this is only a temporary separation for those of us who love the Lord so we look forward with excitement to the day we're reunited with him and all our loved ones who are already with the Lord!

- Jennifer Fears, San Antonio, TX

Bobby, I never knew your father, but from the charactor of his son and the stories I did hear I know he was a great man. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.

- Tim McDavid, Clyo, GA

After a long and fruitful life he's gone home to rest.

- Al & Barbara Cavalier, San Antonio, TX

Mr. Fears was a kind and gentle spirit. Bethesda has lost a man who emulated all the qualities we would wish to be seen in every Bethesda boy. Robert will be missed, but we know he is receiving his heavenly reward. You are in our prayers.

- David Tribble, Savannah, GA

Although I did not know Mr. Fears Sr very well, the one time I did meet him was a very nice time. He offered me figs from his tree in the yard and we talked for a while, he was a very nice man and I thank God I had the chance to meet him. His son Robert is a good friend and I have known him for many years all I can say is his wonderful soul came from somewhere, I bet his dad had much to do with it. God Bless the Fears family.

- George Sweatt, Savannah, GA

Donnie,Bobby, and Sharon, and all that were privledged to have known, and touched by your dad. I am very sorry for your, and our loss. I have known your complete family for 39 years and Mr.Fears was a constant example of a loving husband, father, and friend. He was the benchmark we all would be so lucky to acheive. He was always making our lives eaiser and better. Remember in 1972, he bought the brand new boat and motor, and your family drove it home from the marina, I can still see the joy on your faces, and remember the envy on mine. What a great 50 plus years the kids have had with a wonderful father, and 94 plus incredible years that this great man has spent touching lives around him. I also remember how he loved your mother and how hard he worked for his family. He will always be remembered and thought of as a beautiful person and most of all to me as man that gave me 3 of my most cherished lifetime friends. Godspeed.

Robert: Thinking back on some of our discussions, I recall we have both agreed completely with what Paul says in 2 Cor. 5 in that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, and on the day that we are finally away from the body we will be at home with the Lord. . . for good. Yet for those of us still in this world we face the very human experience of felling loss. I pray that you are comforted and encouraged by the knowledge that your dad is “new again” Rev. 21:5 with Him, and that you will see him again when your race is run. Cheryl and I continue to thank and praise the God of all Mercy that he brought you dad Home so gently, and also that this same God, who is also the God on all Compassion and Comfort, will bless you and your family with His felt presence. Grace and Peace, Steve & Cheryl Sprague

- Steve & Cheryl Sprague, Helotes, TX

- Kevin and Ruth Palmer, San Antonio, TX

Mr. Fears' peace began before he left this world. So his life is just more confirmation that knowing the King of Kings is truly a reality and a blessing that is repeated over and over again. Robert you are the son of a man that wants your light to shine. So continue the family's spiritual legacy. Peace be with you and your family always. Love, Diana and Joe

- Joe & Diana Ramirez, Bertram, TX

uncle robert was very dear to our hearts. we have the fondest memories of his wonderful smile. when he attended our wedding in 1995 he was so happy gary and i were getting married because i owned a florist and he loved plants and flowers. he paid weekly visits to the florist to gather up flowers to give to his friends. he would bring in his vases and poke flowers in them him self, making a little thoughtful gift for someone else to let them know they were special. what a sweet man! he loved the railroad! and loved the fact he was a railroad locomotive engineer. he brighten our life. again uncle robert loved flowers and my wish is that an angel would go pick a pretty bouquet of flowers and give to him and tell him, we'll miss him but we know heaven is a sweeter place with him there. gary and kelly hagin

- kelly & gary hagin, savannah, GA

I first met Robert, Jr Bobby when I moved to Savannah in Dec, 1979. Bobby and I were both water rats, just as his Father was. Every time Bobby and I planned a boat trip, his Father would make certain a boat was in the water and ready to go. He also saw to it that we had food, drinks and fuel for wherever our excursions would take us. He’d greet me as I arrived and always had a smile on his face, but he would never go on the trip with us. When my children were in Savannah, Bobby would see to it that we made at least one boat trip to the barrier islands and we’d all explore the beaches for whatever sea life, birds or treasures we could find. And, of course, his Father would with the kids before or after the trip. He was a kind, friendly, and family loving man and is fondly remembered by my children and myself.

- Ric Norton and family, Savannah, GA

Robert, Our very sincere condolences for the loss of your beloved father. He had a long time on this earth and left it far better than when he arrived. Be sorrowful and proud to have been his son.

- Jack, Sheila & Natalia, San Antonio, TX

Robert, Below is a poem that I came across when grieving the loss of a family member not too long ago and fealt it captured the view as it may be seen from the actual passing soul to the afterlife as we know it to be called, Heaven. He's Waiting His face was wrinkled, his hair white as snow, His body was tired of this world here below. He waited patiently to hear God's call. When it came, he was ready, and surrendered all - To be with our Savior, in His loving care - To join friends and family and with them share The Lord's boundless love and endless grace; He is with Jesus now in His warm embrace; He waits again patiently - for you and me, Till we leave this Earth, finally free, To meet him again and share his delight, As we enter the city that has no night. Although, I did not have the honor of meeting your dad in this life, I can only imagine what a loving, caring, unselfish & goodhearted man he must have been, while completing his mission put forth unto him by the Lord while on this earth, from what I know of his son, you, Robert Fears, and how heartfealt the communications you shared with us strongly projected, speaks volumes to me of just how awesome of a man he must have been. I hope to have that honor some day in the future, God willing. The Rosa family extends their deepest condolences to you and your family at this trying time. We also are honored in joining your family in this time of celebration & rejoice as your father enters into the embrace of the LORD for all eternity.

- Arthur Rosa & family, San Antonio, TX

Mr. Fears was a wonderful person to my wife and I and a great example on how to enjoy life. His stories of growing up at Bethesda, building a sailboat with his friends, and their childhood adventures on the river painted a vivid picture of the beauty and charm of Savannah. Robert, Jr. Bobby, Donnie, and I have been friends for many years and our prayers and thoughts are with them and all the Fears family at this time.
