Coy McNeal Rowe

Coy McNeal Rowe, 87, died Saturday, the 5th of September after a long illness. He was surrounded by his wife and family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mrs. Ollie Gentry Rowe. He was preceded in death by a son, Clinton Ray Rowe.
He worked for Stone Container Co. for 33 years until his retirement. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in Burma, India. He loved his family with all his heart and was a wonderful father and husband.
Surviving children include his daughter, Mrs. Edna Rowe Carter and son-in-law, Kenneth Bruce Carter, Sr. of Mobile, AL; daughter, Mrs. Barbara Rowe Coone of Savannah, GA; son, Mr. Coy McNeal Rowe, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Elaine Hall Rowe of Pembroke, GA; son, Mr. Allen E. Rowe of Savannah, GA; daughter, Mrs. Polly Rowe Lewis and son-in-law, Paul Lewis of Kileen, TX; son, Mr. Mitchell G. Rowe of Rincon, GA; daughter, Mrs. Windy Spradley and son-in-law, G.T. Spradley. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with burial following at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
Although I am not blood kin, he was also like a father to me. The only one I've had for the last 33 years. And although I know he is in a better place, I will miss him as will everyone that knew him. He was a big tease, loved his children and grandchildren,worked hard all his life and gave his all to his family.
