Dear Laura: I thought about your Mom today and decided to google her. I feared that I might find this sad news and I did - I only wish I had thought to reach out sooner. Louise was the dearest, funniest, and kindest woman I think I have ever known. She was my love interest in our little production of CRIMES OF THE HEART in 1980 ! and our 'romance' never ended. I also directed her in BIG RIVER where she brought all her Southern charms and motherly affection to the Widow Douglas. How could you do a play about the South without Louise? Over the years we kept in touch at Christmases but after your father's death things changed and we hadn't spoken. I havenothing but the fondest memories of our friendship and - if there is a heaven - I know Louise will greet me up there with a cocktail and a good story about life in Savannah. XXX

Dear Laura and James, Louise was a member of our Girl Scout Troop 88 in Winder. We had a reunion last fall, which she was unable to attend, and we reminisced about her with great friendship. In the 6th grade, I moved to Winder as a Yankee from Pennsylvania. Louise was the first person to show up at my new home with a package of Coca Cola bottles, chilled and ready to drink.
