Virginia L. Deckert

Virginia L. Deckert, 90, died Thursday, September 24, 2009 in Savannah.

Mrs. Deckert was born on May 13, 1919 in Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter of the late Martin Christian and Mary Ella Ruff Stachnick. Virginia was a volunteer at Fallston General Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland for fourteen years. She was a longtime member of Advent Lutheran Church in Forest Hills, Maryland. She had been a resident of Savannah since 1997.

Mrs. Deckert is survived by her husband of 71 years, Frederick G. Deckert and her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth F. and Patricia A. Deckert of Savannah.

Memorial Service: 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at Savannah Square, 1 Savannah Square Dr., Savannah, GA 31406.

Seventy one glorious years as a wife and over sixty years to share as a mother and friend. She is meeting up with my dad after 41 years and catching up with her mom and dad and sisters!
