Pamela Boykin Arnold

Pamela Boykin Arnold
October 25, 1955 – March 2, 2010
After a long battle with brain cancer, Pamela Arnold left the loving arms of her son, family and friends to join her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, along with her ever missed mother, Libby, and father, George, and brother-in-law Hermie. Pam was loved so dearly by her only child, Clint Murphy. He always said that she was the most doting mother with enough "mom" in her for ten kids.
A true native of Savannah and a 1973 graduate of Savannah High School; Pam made her career in the maritime business here in town until the job led her to Jacksonville, Florida. While in Jacksonville, Pam enjoyed volunteering with the Baptist's Children's Home and making new friends through her Bible Study. After several years, she returned home where she could, once again, reside in the same town as her son and family. Upon her return, Pam took great pleasure in volunteering for the Chatham County Republican Party, the local American Cancer Society, and most importantly caring for her great nieces and nephews. Anyone who was close to Pam knew that you could always count on her to know where to find the best cookies and sweet treats in all of Savannah!
Family and friends were the most valued treasures in Pam's life. She is survived by her greatful son, Clint Murphy, her sister Sandra Meyers and her sister and brother-in-law Jet and Victor Tetreault; as well as her nephew and his wife Kevin and Brenda Meyers and their six children, her nephew and his wife Trent and Joanna Meyers, and their three children, her niece Michelle Smeltzer and her two children. She is also survived by an aunt and several cousins.
Pam's groups of girlfriends were like sisters to her and may as well have been through all of their experiences together. She is survived by her dearest friends: Helen, Pam, LeRia, Joanne, Donna, Beth, Rudene, Debbie, and Brenda. In her last months of life, she would have never continued her fight without the dedication of dear Dr. Bala and the team at Duke University and the love and support of her son and family and Toni, Yolanda, Cindy and her loving cat Gracie. Pamela Arnold will be forever loved and missed.
Visitation will be held, Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Home from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM and the funeral service will be held Monday, March 8, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Fox and Weeks Funeral Home Hodgson Memorial Chapel. Father Joe Smith and Reverend John Brannon will preside. Burial will be in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions in honor of Pamela Arnold to The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke, DUMC Box 3624, Durham, NC 27710.

We first met Pam when we bought our home on 55th St. As it turned out, Pam had just bought a house on the same block. We got to know her as we walked by her house with our dogs. Pam loved this block - we all look out for each other and we're sure Pam would agree that we consider our 55th St. neighbors part of our extended family. We will remember Pam as we walk by her house with our dogs - we will miss her friendly nature and her big smile.
