Roberta S. Sniffen
June 17, 1929 - March 30, 2010
Roberta Scott Sniffen, died at Hospice Savannah, March 30, 2010. She was eighty-on years old. Roberta was the daughter of Robert and Viola Stewart of Elgin, Illinois.
She moved from Valdosta, GA to Savannah in 1984, locating to The Landings on Skidaway Island. She became a member of The Skidaway Island Presbyterian Church and The Landings Club. Roberta was a skilled and rabid golfer. She led the line dancers at the club.
Her training as an accomplished stenographer gave her the opportunity to work at the Mayor's office, Savannah Electric, The Presbyterian Church, The Landings Club, and The Landings Association.
Roberta enjoyed playing bridge and investing in the equities market. She was a strong member of her investment club.
Roberta is survived by her loving husband, Harry Sniffen, two sons, Stewert Petersen, of San Francisco, and David Petersen, of Golden Colorado, son-in-law, Dr. Thomas Green, two granddaughters, Laurin and Katy Petersen-Green, and a sister, Mrs. Lois Renner, of Geneva, Illinois.
A Memorial Service will be held at Skidaway Island Presbyterian Church at a later date.
Remembrances may be made to The Skidaway Island Presbyterian Church or Hospice Savannah.
