Celebrating the life of

Therina "Terry" Catherine Crenshaw

April 08, 1927 - April 04, 2010

Therina

- Savannah - Therina Catherine Crenshaw passed away on Easter Sunday just short of her 83rd birthday. Terry as she was called by friends and family was born in Detroit Michigan on April 8, 1927. She and her Mother moved during the late 1930's to Los Angeles, California where her Mom ran a Boarding House. By necessity, most of Terry's teenage years were spent helping her Mother run the business. As World War II raged in Europe and Asia, she worked in her Mother's Boarding House and as a store clerk at Bullocks Department Store. She also managed to do volunteer work for the American Red Cross. Just after the war ended, she met a young Army Air Corps 2nd Lieutenant, Rex Dale Crenshaw. They were married in January of 1946 in Southern California. Terry was married to Rex for 58 years until he passed away in 2004. She supported his over twenty year career in the U.S. Air Force along with almost 10 moves to bases here in the States and to overseas postings from Japan to France and Germany. After Rex retired from the Air Force in 1963, they settled in Littleton, Colorado where they stayed until 1998. From there, they moved to Savannah, Georgia where they bought a comfortable home on Skidaway Island. Their life was filled with gardening, trips to the community pool and visits to new friends and neighbors. Terry raised a son Kent and daughter Paula. She was very proud of her children. Kent is a test pilot for Gulfstream Aerospace here in Savannah and Paula is a medical doctor with a busy practice in South Lake Tahoe, California. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Judy Crenshaw and son-in-law Greg Brown and two grand sons, Cameron Crenshaw and Cody Munger.

A Memorial visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

Inurnment will be at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 13, 2010 in Arlington National Cemetery.

Remembrances: American Red Cross-Savannah Chapter, 41 Park of Commerce Way, Savannah, GA 31405.
