Patricia Josephine Casey

Savannah-Mrs. Patricia Pat Casey, age 82, passed away on Sunday May 30, 2010 at Memorial Health University Medical Center, Savannah, GA.

Pat was born in Longford, Ireland on May 21, 1928. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas M. Casey, parents, Matthew and Eleanor Farrell, brothers, James and Matthew Farrell, and sisters, May Potter Cogan and Eleanor Healy. She is survived by her loving daughters and sons in law, Kate and Tom Haase of Savannah GA., and Jane and Mark Imperiale of Sarasota FL, as well as her brothers, John of Dublin, Ireland, Gerald and Michael of Longford, and sister, Carmel of Mitchelstown, Co. Cork, a host of nieces and nephews, and special longtime friends Maureen Murphy and Dodo Dwyer.

Pat graduated from the Bower School in Athlone, Co. Meath, and went on to work for the Munster and Leinster Bank in Cork where she met her husband Tom. She lived in Cork for the next 50 years where she was actively involved in the St. Vincent de Paul Society, The Cork Council for the Blind and Meals on Wheels, for many years. She loved to golf and was both lady Captain and President of Cork Golf Club. In addition Pat was a wonderful hostess and cook, and an avid bridge player. Upon moving to Savannah in the Fall of 2004, Pat settled in to her new life with ease and quickly found her "Bridge and Lunch" ladies, whose company she enjoyed enormously. A special thanks goes out to all of you.

A Memorial Mass will be held at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist on the 2nd of June, 2010 at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place in Ireland at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the Family suggests that any memorials be made to The Social Apostolate, 502 East Liberty Street, Savannah, GA 31401.

To Kate and Jane. It was with sadness that we read in the paper of the passing of your Mom. We send you our sincerest sympathy. It has been many many years since we met - I did my teacher training in Regina Mundi where I met you both. I was engaged to Michael Spillane - remember your family used to have your holiday caravan in Spillane's field ! Mike's sisters have many good memories of you both and of your parents. They ask to be remembered to you. Mike and I still live in that same house and have reared seven children here - all grown up by now. I hope life has been good to you both. If ever you are back in Ireland we would be delighted to see you and you would be very welcome. We will remember Pat in our prayers. Kindest regards Finola Spillane née O'Donoghue
