Anna Bell Harvey Acree, 81, died Friday, June 4, 2010 at Candler Hospital. She was born and raised in Charleston, West Virginia and lived in Savannah for the past 14 years. She worked with her sister Delores at Second Hand Rose Consignment Shop in Charleston for 11 years. She was a member of the Boat Club on Wilmington Island. She enjoyed fishing and spending time with her beloved dog, Bob.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Doris L. Clutter and her brother, Walter H. Harvey, and her longtime companion, Horace "Tookie" Strickland.
She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Penelope and Michael May, of Spring, Texas, and Candice and Timothy Sobataka, of Savannah. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Delores L. and Harold Carter, and two grandchildren, Melissa Franklin and Christopher May.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, June 6, 2010, at the home of Timothy and Candice Sobataka at Long Point.
A private family graveside service will be held at the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests remembrances be sent to The St. Joseph/Candler Foundation, 5353 Reynolds Street, Savannah, GA 31405.
