I met Anne only once. As new home owners on Tybee Island I was exploring the offerings of TAA, the theatre, and the art classes. Anne was very welcoming in her warm conversation. I will always remember when I closed on my Tybee home sold to me by Jim how Anne fixed us a picnic lunch to celebrate and brought me over a full sized, framed picture of a dolphin painted by Debbie Robinson. I met Anne only once. As new home owners on Tybee Island I was exploring the offerings of TAA, the theatre, and the art classes. Anne was very welcoming in her warm conversation. I learned of her illness when we returned for our yearly 'snow bird in retirement' visit. Members of the painting class were speaking of her with such kind words. It is clear to me that she met everyone with warm kindness and great energy. She will be greatly missed by so many. I send my sincere condolences to her family. Merch and I began our friendship at Rosemont College in 1952.All through the years, we have taken advantage of any opportunity to see each other, knowing that we had special ties. I loved her quick humor and her pragmatic approach to life's situations. In 2006, we co-chaired our Rosemont 50th Reunion. More recently, she visited for a weekend in November 2009. Soon after returning home, she called to say she had received a surprise diagnosis of lung and brain tumors. In characteristic style, she adopted a positive attitude,but to our sorrow, God had other plans for our dear friend. She was a favorite in our close-knit Rosemont group. She'll be a great welcomer when we get together again.

I will always remember when I closed on my Tybee home sold to me by Jim how Anne fixed us a picnic lunch to celebrate and brought me over a full sized, framed picture of a dolphin painted by Debbie Robinson. I knew no one on the whole island and this was my introduction to the kind of people here.When I brought Hardy Jones here for the fundraiser for the dolphins of Japan, who should show up right away to help me plan but Anne. And in her top hat as MC of the art auction, Anne's performance was one for the ages. She was spectacular in every way and I find it hard to grasp that that much life force has left. She is one I will always remember vividly.
