Anne Elizabeth Colvin "Betty" Halligan, 92, died July 17, 2010 at Savannah Square. She was born in Savannah, daughter of the late Dennis and Anastasia Lawler Colvin. Mrs. Halligan was a graduate of Savannah High School. She was a vice president with Palmer & Cay Insurance Company where she served as the first female on the board of directors until her retirement. She was a communicant of the Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society where she volunteered for many years, member of the DAR, Huntingdon Club and a longtime volunteer with the Historic Savannah Foundation working in the gift shop at the Davenport House. Her husband, Julian Crowley Halligan and sister, Anastasia L. Colvin, preceded her in death.

Surviving are a daughter, Anne H. Horstman and her husband, Neil of Leesburg, VA; son, Michael R. Halligan and his wife, Kathy of Savannah; sister, Jeanne Colvin Wallace of Myrtle Beach; grandchildren, Stasia Jurgensen Stinespring and her husband, Rob of Atlanta; Kevin Halligan and his wife, Mary Jo of Savannah; Catherine Halligan of Atlanta; Joseph, Michael and John Anthony Halligan of Savannah; great grandchildren, Elizabeth and William Stinespring of Atlanta; Stephen, Sean and Colin Halligan of Savannah; nephews, Colvin Wallace and his wife, Susan of Fort Wright, KY; Dennis Wallace of Northern, VA; niece, Susan Hodge of Covington, KY.

Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 19, 2010 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with a Vigil Service at 6:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at the Blessed Sacrament Church with The Reverend Jeremiah McCarthy, Celebrant.

Burial: Bonaventure Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank Gertrude Mitchell for her wonderful care and friendship extended to their mother over the many years.
