Robert Edgar Stanley, Jr.

Robert Edgar "Bobby" Stanley, Jr., 75, died July 21, 2010 at his residence. He was born in Savannah, son of the Robert E. Stanley, Sr. and Eddie Lou Gloer Stanley. He was a graduate of Savannah High School and received an Associate's degree from Armstrong Junior College. Mr. Stanley was employed for over 39 years with Savannah Electric and Power Company/The Southern Company serving as a cable splicer and at retirement, the supervisor of the underground utilities. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Temple where he was a member of the Ralph Finnegan Sunday School Class and also a member of the Electrical Workers Union No. 1208. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Elizabeth Rebecca Stanley Hendrix and sister, Dorothy Stanley Creel.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Joan Lucas Stanley of Savannah; son and daughter-in-law, Robert G. and Vicky Stanley of Madison, AL; and their son, Blake C. Stanley; daughter and son-in-law, Lynn Stanley Bilms and Kevin P. Bilms of Chesapeake, VA; and their children, Kevin P. Bilms, II and Joanie E. Bilms; mother-in-law, Ruby L. Lanier of Savannah; brother-in-law, Wayne Lucas and his wife, Janet of Savannah; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, July 25, 2010 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral: 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 26, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Temple – Wilder Chapel.
Burial: Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
