John  Willis Covington

John Willis Covington, 84, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2010 Memorial University Medical Center. He was a native of Jenkins County and retired as a truck driver of over 40 years. He retired from Glenn Lee Trucking Company, after 17 years.
He was preceded in death by his son, James Leon Covington, his grandson, William Charles Bledsoe, one sister, Tommie Lee Kent, two brothers, Bruce Covington and Shelton Covington.
He is survived by one son, John Keith Judy Covington, of Homer, GA, three daughters, Phyllis Mark Simons, of Savannah, Sherri Mark Cadman, of Savannah, and Jessica Bledsoe Covington, of Savannah. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Selina Michael Williamson, Ashley Agers Cole Harrison, Casey and Kristin Covington, Justin Cadman, Caleb Simons, Elizabeth Cadman, C.J. Miller, Angel Bledsoe, and Scott Christy Morgan, great-grandchildren, John Michael Williamson, Megan Williamson, Andrew Harrison, and Caramia Williamson.
He is also survived by special friends, Virginia Covington, Janice Jeffers, and Chip Kirby, and his very special cat, Betty.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, July 25, 2010 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 26, 2010 at Elam Baptist Church in Millen, Georgia, with burial in the church cemetery.
Mr. Covington will lie in state one hour prior to the service.
John is now truckin on in Heaven!

john and i worked together for many years and i know in my heart that he thought as much of me as i thought of him. we also had good times after work and i am so sorry i missed seeing him the last few years of his life. without knowing it i also married into his family and i have been welcomed by one and all..he has a very special family. i will miss john so very much and he leaves me with alot of wonderful memories...i will pray for his whole family and their healing..donna ogletree

sherrie I just want to tell you how sorry I am about your father I know you was raised up together on 57th street for many many years cause I can remembercoming to your house phyliss & keith was there as wellwe had a lot of good times back then coming over and jumping in your back yard and carla jump one time to many and broke her ankle crazy times back then. but just remember one thing god loves you and he is our comfertor he can take our pain away
