Thomas Earl Beasley

Thomas Earl Beasley, 88, died Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Candler Hospital. He was a native of Brooklet, GA and a lifelong resident of Savannah. He retired in 1983 from Local 26, Boilermakers Union and was a member of the Thunderbolt American Legion, Post 184. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II in the European Theatre in the Quartermaster's Corps.
He was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Temple and the Chapel Bible Sunday School Class. Thomas was an avid fisherman and hunter, and was a member of the Fleming Hunt Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David T. and Lorene Waters Beasley, brothers, Carl Beasley, and Aubrey Beasley, sisters, Bernice Burdette, Gladys Jones, and Mary Connor.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Margaret Newell Beasley, of Savannah, his son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Wade and Lynn Hughes Beasley, of Atlanta, and his granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Beasley, of Atlanta. He is also survived by his sister, Blanche Smith, of Richmond Hill, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Temple, Wilder Chapel.
Funeral Service will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Temple, Wilder Chapel with the Reverend Wayne Watts and the Reverend Dr. John S. Connell officiating.
Burial will be private.
Remembrances may be made to Calvary Baptist Temple, 4625 Waters Ave, Savannah, GA 31404 or charity of donors choice.
