Roy Lindsey

Savannah, Ga. - Roy Lindsey, 67, passed away Sunday August 15, 2010 at his residence.
He was born November 13, 1942 in Cleveland, Tennessee and lived in Savannah for 32 years.
He graduated in 1960 from Farragut High School in Concord, Tennessee. Roy proudly served in the United States Army for four years. After he was honorably discharged, he attended Savannah Technical College and received a degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. He also attended Armstrong State College and received a degree in Respiratory Therapy. He worked at Memorial Hospital and Candler Hospital as an LPN. He retired in 1988.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Virginia Lindsey , his daughter and son- in-law, Michelle Lindsey Lynes and Wade A. Lynes, Jr., all of Savannah. He is also survived by his mother, Irene Browning Lindsey, his sister, Sherry Ann Austin and brother-in law, John A. Austin, all of Arlington, VA. He also leaves behind a daughter, Tammy Renee Graves; Sons, Shane Lindsey and Roy "Trip" Lindsey McAlister, III and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Nancy N. & J.C. Lewis Cancer and Research Pavilion, St. Joseph's/Candler Hospital, 5353 Reynolds Street, Savannah, GA 31405.
