Pauline Polly Wilson Sims

- Savannah - Pauline Polly Wilson Sims, passed into eternity at 94 years of age on Sunday, August 22, 2010, after a long illness. She was born in Atlanta and moved to Savannah in 1957. A long time resident of Isle of Hope, she was predeceased by her husband, T. Eugene Sims. She had three daughters, Frances Sims DeWitt of Savannah; Lynda Sims, deceased in 2007, and Dusty Sims Duke of Bluffton, SC. Polly had seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Polly was a long time member and volunteer at Southside Baptist Church. She also was State Counselor of the Daughters of America. With her Southern genteel charm, her greatest talent was extending hospitality. Everyone was welcomed into her home where she would greet them with a smile and a hug.

Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 24, 2010, at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

Funeral: 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at Southside Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Allan W. Bosson, officiating.

Burial: Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

Remembrances: In lieu of flowers, gifts could be sent to Hospice Savannah, Inc., P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416 or to Southside Baptist Church Building Fund, 5502 Skidaway Rd., Savannah, GA 31406.
