James William Owen, 74, died Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia. He was a born July 8, 1936 in Charlotte, TN and lived in Savannah for the past twenty-five years. He founded Owen Claim Services, Inc. in 1991 and was a member of Montgomery Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Walton Owen and Bessie Hayes Owen, one sister, Irene Owen, and three brothers, Gilbert, Wilson, and Robert Owen.
James is survived by is loving wife, Jan Pool Owen, of Savannah, three sons and daughters-in-law, Randall K. and Mary Owen, James W., Jr. and Sherry Owen, and Steven S. and Stacey Owen, three daughters and sons-in-law, Lori J. and Shannon Wiggins, Debbie O. and Brian Lodge, and Lisa S. and Russell Webb, one sister, Odell Owen Sensing, fifteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 27, 2010 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
An additional visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 30, 2010 with an additional funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Spann Funeral Home in Dickson, Tennessee. 615-446-1123
Burial will be in the James Walton Owen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society or the James Walton Owen Cemetery Fund.
