THUNDERBOLT, GA – Sheila McAleer Kimker, 70, died Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at Hospice House.
The native and lifelong resident of Savannah was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. She was the Accounting Manager for Anderson Shipping Co.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Eric and Stephanie Kimker of Mt. Pleasant, SC and John and Sarah Kimker of Midway, GA; two grandchildren, Moira Grace Kimker of Midway, GA and Owen Kimker of Mt. Pleasant, SC; her brother and sister-in-law, Henry J. McAleer IV and Mildred "Midge" of Ellabell; her sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Jim McCrae of Athens, GA; her cousin, Jim Sledge of Savannah; and other relatives.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel, with a Christian Wake Service at 6:00 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 3, at 12:00 Noon at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Catholic Cemetery.
The family suggests remembrances be made to Hospice Savannah, P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416, St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, P.O. Box 30859, Savannah, GA 31410, or to a charity of your choice.

Sheila will be missed by all of those who knew and loved her. She was a very special lady, who inspired me to be the person that I am today. I will always remember her strength and grace.
