Martha Osborne Adams

SAVANNAH - Martha Teka Osborne Adams, 80, formerly of Savannah, passed away peacefully September 4, 2010 surrounded by family at her daughter's home in Watkinsville, Ga. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Elton S. Osborne and Martha S. Osborne, and by her husband, John B. Adams.
Teka attended The Pape School, Oldfields, and Finch College, then returned to Savannah where she was a
member of the Episcopal Church, the Junior League, the Colonial Dames, the Savannah Golf Club, and the
Oglethorpe Club. She was generous with her time and talents, sponsoring boys at Bethesda Home for Boys,
donating to the American Kidney Fund, and volunteering as a grief counselor at Hospice Savannah.
Teka and John loved to travel, touring the world from New Zealand to Istanbul. An avid sports fan, she
enjoyed basketball, golf, and the Braves. With John, she was pleased to endow two football scholarships
at the University of Georgia.
In later years her health failed, but she continued to take a keen interest in her family and friends and in all things Savannah.
She is survived by her sons, Karl Bucky Roebling and John W. Adams, her daughters Tish Rumsey and
Anne R. Pritchard, sons-in law Lewis Perdue and Jack Pritchard, brother Dr. William Osborne, sister
Louise O. Ogden, five grandsons and five granddaughters.
The family will receive friends in the parish hall of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Isle of Hope at 10:00 a.m.
Thursday, September 9, followed by a memorial service in the church at 11:00 a.m.
Remembrances may be sent to any of the charities above.

Ann, Cynthia and I are very sorry for your loss. It seems that you and Jack have had more than your share of family deaths in recent times. We have nothing but good memories of your Mother as the times we were around her we felt as if she had always known us. If you need us we are a phone call away. Mike
