Kathryn Twiggs Curran, 32, born September 29, 1977 in Savannah, Georgia, died peacefully in her sleep during the early hours of the morning on September 24, 2010. Kathryn loved and was loved by all who knew her. Her courage, determination, and attitude defined her beyond her circumstances, and she became an enduring, shining, inspiration to all. She had a contagious enthusiasm for life as well as a passion for music, children's literature, babies, good news, friendly gatherings, delicious food, hugs, birthdays, and the color purple which she enjoyed, shared, and spread all across the land every day of her life. Kathryn co-authored the cookbook, "A Collection of So Good Recipes," which she wrote with her devoted grandmother, Peggy Johnson. She was a 1997 graduate of St. Vincent's Academy, attended St. Andrews College in Laurinburg, North Carolina, made her debut at The Cotillion Club in Savannah, and resided at Harrison Heights in Augusta, Georgia.
She was predeceased by her sister, Margaret Meriwether Curran, and her paternal grandfather, Michael Jordan Curran, Sr.
She is survived by a large and deeply saddened family and many friends: Her parents, Michael and Jan Curran of Savannah, Georgia, her brother, Jordan Curran, maternal grandparents, David and Peggy Johnson, paternal grandmother, Mary Sullivan Curran, maternal aunt and uncle, Carolyn and Einar Trosdal, her paternal aunts and uncles, Anne and Bill Shira, Brian and Tara Curran, Mary and Wren Blalock, Chris and Kelli Curran, Kitty and Lewis Collins as well as many adoring cousins, their spouses, and children.
Kathryn will be interred at Bonaventure Cemetery at a private family graveside service, officiated by Monsignor John Kenneally.
Remembrances: Kathryn T. Curran Purple Music Foundation, a foundation supporting the advancement of music therapy, 300 Riverview Drive, Savannah, Georgia 31404.

I have the pleasure of Kathryn being one of the first person my sisters and I met when my sister Becky moved in. That was after our mother of 85 had passed. So it was a new and lonely place for Becky. Kathryn truely made that move a much easier one through her love of life. She loved her independence and was proud of that. She showed others how easy it can be. Becky was around 39 when she moved in, suddenly independent. She defines the word inspiration. My sisters and I will miss her smile, until we met again.
