George Reginald Kessler

SAVANNAH – George Reginald Kessler, 86, passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2010.
Mr. Kessler was a native of Savannah, GA and a member of Southside Baptist Church. He served in the United States Navy in World War II, from 1943 until he was honorably discharged in 1946. He was employed by Ductile Iron Company of America, from which he retired. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and painting. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elliott E. Kessler and Lilla M. Kessler; two brothers, Elliott Marlin Kessler, and Richard Edward Kessler; and his wife of forty years, Virginia Marsh Kessler.
He is survived by his longtime loving companion, Janice Elaine Mason; two daughters, Kelley Kessler Horan and Kimberly Kessler Higdon; four grandchildren, Kristina Ann Horan, Shelby Marie Horan, Kessler James Higdon, and Luke Thomas Higdon; a sister, Loretta Kessler Lancaster; a brother, Edrie Jud Kessler; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 5, 2010, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 6, 2010, at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park on Wheaton Street.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Savannah, 201 Television Circle, Savannah, GA 31406.
Kelly and Kim, I am so sorry to hear about your Dad's passing. I see him now with his broad smile , his wondedrful laugh and his joy for life.
