Sheryl, My wife and I are deeply regretful of the passing of Ramesh. He was a deeply admired man who possessed great ability, discernment, and sensitivity. Those of us within the medical community were benefited not only by his exemplary surgical intervention, but also by the lasting impression he made by his focus on how well the patient could be served. He was truly a man with few equals. May your faith allow this transition to be tolerable. May God continue to bless you. Jerry and Beverly Hudson

I have told him and any one who would listen that he was the BEST! He was a compassionate and humble man and doctor, which is a rarity in the medical field! The medical field and the general public have truly lost a great physician! My sympathy to his wife and mother.

Dr. Patwardhan saved my sister Barbara Jones' life in 1994, when he diagnosed her breast cancer after two mammogram screenings failed to do so. They met during her tenure as regional director of the American Cancer Society, while he was on the Board of Directors. He was agressive in fighting for Barbara, first in the operating room and second, against the insurance bureacracy which tried to deny her coverage for post-surgical hospitalization. Dr. Patwardhan was successful on both fronts. He would operate on her again a few years later when she had a scare. My sister always said that of all the good things to come from having cancer, Dr. Patwardhan was the best, as if God sent her an angel.

For the past year I have had the pleasure to work with Dr. Patwardhan in his capacity as state Commission on Cancer representative and I with the American Cancer Society. I found him to be among the most generous, caring, kind and determined persons I have ever known. I am grateful to have had such a wonderful mentor. I will sincerely miss this gentle yet exceedingly strong man. My most sincere sympathy.

Dear Cheriyl, We extend our sympathy. Ramesh was a tennis partner, a friend, and a medical advisor, always willing to share his knowledge. With a quiet manner, he obviously cared about people and initiated phone calls to check on his friends undergoing or needing medical attention. We will miss him. Bob and Nancy Neumann
