Dr. Demetrios George "D" Tsoulos (Col., USA, Ret.)
Passed away on March 16, 2019
Dr. Demetrios George “D” Tsoulos (Col., USA, Ret.), 81, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Candler Hospital with his wife by his side. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, son of the late George Demetrios Tsoulos and Katherine Varzos Tsoulos.
Dr. Tsoulos was retired as a Colonel after 30 years of service in the United States Army. He served two tours of duty during the Vietnam War and also served during Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm in the Gulf War. He was an Airborne Green Beret and a flight surgeon. Dr. Tsoulos received his medical training at the University of Chicago Medical School. After retiring from the Army, he worked in various emergency rooms in Georgia and Alabama. The most important thing to “D” was his family and many friends that will truly miss him.
Surviving are his wife of 26 years, Lawanna Ricks Tsoulos of Savannah, GA; son, George Darin Tsoulos and wife Troy of Chicago, IL; son, Michael Alexander Tsoulos and wife Andrea of Chicago, IL; daughter, Katherine Tsoulos Livingstone and husband Alex of London, England; grandsons, Henry and Freddie Livingstone; niece, Amanda Ryan of Villa Rica, GA; great nephew, Sawyer Ryan of Villa Rica, GA.
Visitation will be on Sunday, March 24, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, March 25, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Islands Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors with Rev. Dr. David Laughner officiating.
Interment will be in Beaufort National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. with full military honors.

Lawanna, The World has lost a remarkable man. We are so sorry for your loss and our own. I selfishly hate that I won’t get to speak with him face to face again. I always enjoyed his passion. So glad we ran into y’all at Basils a while back.
