Anne Elizabeth Hendrix Camp

Anne Elizabeth Hendrix Camp, 83, died Thursday, December 23, 2010 in Savannah, Georgia surrounded by her son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren.

She was born October 11, 1927 in Cedartown, Georgia, the daughter of the late Garry Briston and Mattie Lou Fortson Hendrix. She was a graduate of Polk County High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society and received her formal education from Georgia Southern University. Anne was a devoted homemaker in addition to working at C & S Bank for many years. She was a member of Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church for over 60 years. She was also civically involved, volunteering at the soup Kitchen and mentoring underprivileged children. She was a dedicated Georgia Bulldog fan, an avid bridge player and enjoyed spending time at the beach with her family and many friends.

Mrs. Camp was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Hickman Camp, Jr. She is survived by her sons, Paul Hendrix Camp Cecilia and Harry Hickman Camp, III; sister, Marilyn Hendrix Ratcliff; grandchildren, Elizabeth Anne Camp Wynn Patrick, Mary Katherine Camp Melroy Joel, Lauren Briston Camp and Patrick Bayley Camp; great-grandchildren, Patrick Thomas Wynn, Jr. and Mary Claiborne Wynn and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will take place Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Patrick Bayley Camp, Henry Christopher Caver, III, Joel Thomas Melroy, David Craig Spinks, Ira Lester Spinks, Jr. and Patrick Thomas Wynn.

The family asks that remembrances be made in her memory to the Trinity on the Hill Building Fund, 1330 Monte Sano Avenue, Augusta, Georgia 30904.
