Eleanor Wells Ragan

Savannah- Eleanor Wells Ragan, 88, passed away Monday, December 27, 2010 at Azalealand Nursing Home.
Born March 15, 1922, the native of Savannah grew up on Isle of Hope. She was a homemaker and for sixty years, was married to the love of her life, Edward C. Ragan. For over twenty years, she volunteered as a Pink Lady at St. Joseph's Hospital. Eleanor loved to fish and travel and was a Communicant of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. In addition to her husband, her parents, Rosa Bremer Wells and John Boyd Wells and her son, Robert Timothy Ragan preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son, Edward C. Ragan, II of Peachtree City, GA; daughters, Mary Rita Walsh and husband, Larry Walsh of Collins, GA, and Ellen Ragan Shawe and husband, Mark Shawe of Savannah; grandchildren, Edward C. Ragan, III and wife, Violetta of Oak Harbor, WA, Barbara A. Aycox and husband, John of Oxford, GA, Lisa Hedenstrom and husband, Todd of Senoia, GA, Angie R. Gunter of Smyrna, GA, Alexander Ragan McDaniel, Ronald Mason Walker, Jr. and Patrick Zackary Walker and wife, Holly, all of Savannah; fourteen great-grandchildren; brother, Herbert Bremer Wells of Savannah, and sister, Josephine Smith and husband, Jerry Smith of Rincon, GA.
Memorial Mass: 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 30, 2010 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the church. A private burial will be held at a later date.
