Khuong Nguyen

Richmond Hill: Khuong Nguyen, age 35, died at his home in the embrace of his family and friends and under the care of Hospice of Savannah. He was born in Saigon, Viet Nam on January 24, 1976 and came to Savannah in 1990 with his family as a refugee under sponsorship of St. Thomas Episcopal Church.

He graduated from Jenkins High School and Armstrong Atlantic University with a B.S. in Chemistry. He was employed by SNF Chemtall starting in 1999 as an intern and being promoted to operations manager for three plants in 2007. Khuong was an avid and skilled tennis player with many friends in the Savannah tennis community.

He was preceded in death by his father Cpt. Bay Nguyen, ARVN, of Savannah. He is survived by his mother My Nguyen of Savannah, his loving wife Vy and daughters Lynn and Emily of Richmond Hill, and his brother Khiem and sister-in-law Pamela of Savannah and brother Khang of Atlanta. Additionally he is survived by his aunt Hien and uncle Chang Nguyen of Savannah and cousins Khanh Brown of Atlanta, Khoi Nguyen of Savannah, and Van Pham of Savannah, Qui Le of New Orleans, and his honorary uncle and aunt, Philip and Claudia Beckwith of Greenville, SC.

The family will receive friends at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel on Saturday, February 5, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. with a memorial service at 6:15 p.m.

The funeral service will be held at the graveside at Greenwich Cemetery on Sunday, February 6, 2011 at 1:00 p.m.

Remembrances may be made to The Lynn and Emily Nguyen Education Fund at Bryan Bank & Trust, 9971 Ford Ave. or P.O. Box 1299, Richmond Hill, GA 31324. Checks must be made out to Vy Nguyen.
