Elizabeth Zipperer Martin

Savannah- Elizabeth Zipperer Martin, 92, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Hospice Savannah.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Savannah and retired after 19 years with Sears Roebuck Company. As a member of Grace United Methodist Church, she was a teacher of the C.G. Ernest Sunday School Class; she was also an associate member of Port Wentworth United Methodist Church. Elizabeth was a member of United Methodist Women and Past Matron of the Eastern Star, White Star367. Her husband, Earle C. Martin and brothers, O.H. Zipperer, and Edward Zipperer and his wife, Beverly preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, William A. Kearney, III Georgia of Virginia Beach, VA, and James Earle Martin Karen of Santa Rosa, CA; daughter, Iris Durrence Steve of Rincon; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 11, 2011 at the Hodgson Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors. Reverend Bobby Gale and Reverend Tom Edwards will officiate. Burial will be private.

I met her at dinner with my family and The Martins. She seemed really nice and I think alot of people really admired her. Im really sorry for the families loss

Hi cousins, just wanted to tell you I loved Sister and will miss her too. She was very specail, after all, she gave me my first summer job as a teenager. The memorial was beautiful and she would have been so proud of you.She had a full life even in her later years and it was an inspiration for me.Thanks for sharing her. Love ya'll lots.
