Edwin Carl Sprengel, 93, died March 26, 2011 at Hospice Savannah, Inc. He was a native of Chicago, Illinois and was a longtime resident of Illinois and Florida before moving to Savannah five years ago. Mr. Sprengel was a retired marketing manager from Illinois Bell Telephone Company with 42 years of service. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, active with Meals on Wheels and was a United States Army Veteran serving during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Wheeler "Kay" Sprengel.

Surviving are two daughters, Sally B. Sprengel of Savannah, GA; Susan Sprengel of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; sons, Steven Sprengel and his wife, Jennifer of Willowbrook, IL; John Sprengel and his wife, Marcia of St. Charles, IL; seven grandchildren.

Memorial Service: 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church.
