Marian Pickren Bell

Marian Pickren Bell, died April 4, 2011 surrounded by her family. She was born in Jacksonville, FL and grew up in Folkston, GA where she was educated in the Charlton County Schools. She came to Savannah as a young bride, and lived there the remainder of her life. She was a member of Skidaway Island United Methodist Church. She was a former member of The Landings Club. An avid gardener, she was a former member of The Woodland Garden Club and Ikebana International. She was preceded in death by her father, Verne Johnson Pickren and her mother, Marion Mills Evans.

Surviving are her daughter, Sandra Bell Shipp and her husband, Bob of Savannah; her grandson, Ruskin R. Shipp of Macon; her sister, Jean Pickren Harrison and her husband, Kenneth of St. Mary's; and her brother, Sam L. Pickren of Folkston; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be private with Inurnment at Skidaway Island United Methodist Church Memorial Gardens.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Mayo Clinic Alzheimer's Research Fund, 4500 San Pablo Road, Jacksonville, FL 32224.
