Enjoyed everytime we were around Pop. Loved his stories and especially the ones about being stationed at the King & Prince on St. Simons. A true gentleman who will be missed.

Joan, I haven't seen you in many years but I wanted to let you know that Stamp was a dear and special friend of mine since the mid fifties. He was one of a kind and I know he will be deeply missed by so many. Please know my prayers are with you and the family at this time of sorrow. Rest assured the world will always be a better place because at one time Stamp lived here. Tommy Smith

Many memories about 'Pop' but the one that stands out most were our trips to catch a ballgame at Grayson Stadium. We would get in his old green car and drive to the store where he would get me a bag of candy and him some boiled peanuts. Then he would drive to the stadium and we would sit in the car and listen to the game on the radio in the parking lot. I don't recall ever going in, lol, but it never really mattered. I was with Pop :-

Uncle Stamp was a wonderful man who we all love very much. I miss him now and will miss him always. I loved spending time with Uncle Stamp and Aunt Neva, I miss her so much..what an amazing couple. Fantastic people apart and together. So very different but you could always see the love they had for each other.

The Stewart's were sorry to learn of Stanford's, 'Pop's' death and offer our deepest sympathy to his family. He was always a delight to be around with his quick wit and humor. I always looked forward to his war time stories and the days he played baseball. He told me several years ago that he had a name other than Pop and that his friends called him Stamp. Stamp had a way of connecting with young people and my kids loved him too. You will be missed by all. Cliff, Sandy, Bayne and Katie.
