Sara Louise Coleman Conner, 78, of Savannah died April 17, 2011 surrounded by her beloved family, friends, and clergy. Sara was born September 24, 1932 in Soperton, Georgia and lived in Savannah for most of her life. She attended and was a member of Grace Church of the Islands PCA.

Sara lived her life in the service of others and above all the Lord. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. MaMa, as she was known, will always be remembered as the foundation of her family. She loved and was loved deeply and will be truly missed. It is with great sorrow that we mourn our loss but through her faith we rejoice as we give this servant back to the Lord.

Sara is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Sylvia and Madison Alcorn, Savannah GA; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Rene Conner, Springfield GA; daughter and son-in-law, Cherie and Wendell Brown, Guyton GA; sisters, Glenis Collins, Dublin GA; Charlie Mae Smith, Vidalia, GA; brothers, James Coleman, Dublin GA; Charles ColemanElaine, Vidalia GA; 5 grandchildren, Angela Rossiter Jimmy, Savannah GA; Jessica Huffman James, Moultrie GA; Chris Conner Amanda, Statesboro GA; Colby Conner, Springfield GA; Chandler Brown, Guyton GA; 5 great grandchildren, Taylor and Madison Huffman and James, Andrew, and Benjamin Rossiter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louise and Charlie Coleman; husband, Wendell Conner; sister, Jacqueline Thigpen and brothers, Wendell, Marvin, Bobby, Donald, and Kendall Coleman.

Pallbearers will be Warren and Gary Coleman, Randy Thigpen, Chris and Colby Conner, Chandler Brown; honorary pallbearers are Taylor Huffman and James Rossiter.

Visitation: 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2011 at the Islands Chapel of Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors.

Burial will follow at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.
