Millicent Craigie Keck

SAVANNAH-- Millicent Craigie Keck died peacefully at home May 1st. She was born in Salina Cruz, Oaxaca, Mexico, on June 26, 1917, moved with her family to New Orleans at age 11, graduated Valedictorian from Mandeville High in 1935. Lived her joyful married life on Signal Mountain , TN, & in Savannah, & Puerto Rico, before returning to New Orleans. Hurricane Katrina sent her back to Savannah.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, William Henry Keck, Jr., & her son Mike Keck, a well known golfer in Savannah in the 1960's. She was treasured by her surviving CHILDREN--her daughters Millicent Quam & husband Michael of Arcata, California, Sandy Everette & husband Marvin of Savannah & son William Keck III & his wife Jeanny of New Orleans, & her GRANDCHILDREN: Jessica Quam of Arcata & Rolf Quam of Binghamton, NY, & Kami & Clayton Cornell of Chattanooga, Beth & Chris Hendrix & Meg & Chip Welch of Savannah, Randy & Becky Everette of Marietta , & Michael & Kimberly Keck & Jason & Lucy Keck of Calif., Jo Anne Keck of New York City. GREATGRANDCHILDREN: Emmie, Addison, & Marshall Cornell, Wiley Hendrix, Charlie & Hudson Welch, Savannah & Cole Keck, and Halley Everette. She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in New Orleans & faithful to Ascension Lutheran Church in Savannah. In her 94 years, she set an example of grace & generosity & of true contentment & happiness in all circumstances, which had a deep impact on all who knew her!
She lived her life with JOY, LOVE, & GRATITUDE1
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 5, 2011 with a Memorial Service at 6:00 p.m., at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.
