GUEST BOOK

It has been a number of years since I saw George, he was such a great guy. I was so surprised to hear of his passing. My prayers for his family. God Bless.

- Rick Jervis, La Quinta, CA

George and James have provided and fulfilled a long standing aesthetic connection for the city of Savannah. So many I know including myself spent countless hours playing the variety of grand pianos upright too so we could hear the sound of a great instrument. The thousands of young people who studied piano, guitar, winds etc. at RODY's Music will remember those hours fondly for most of their lives. And the thousands of High School band musicians, whether they really wanted to play or not : , were all familiar with Rody's Music and were all intrigued by the variety and selection of instruments before them whenever visiting the store. I am sorry for yours and the community's loss. Sincerely, Sanford Cohen

- Sanford Cohen, New York, NY

I had known George since I was a teenager back in the 60's. I would go to the store on skidaway and look at the guitars when I was first starting to learn how to play.I wound up working for the Rody's teaching guitar for 15 years. Guess who hired me? Thanks for everything my brother. The 80's rocked and I was right in the middle of it all at Rody's around the finest musicians and the greatest people in the world to work for. You were my mentor, my phycologist, my friend, my big brother. Thank you and goodbye. The Road Does Go On forever and the Song Remains the Same.

- craig neidlinger, madison, GA

As a radio DJ and DJ for weddings, parties and events in Savannah since 1979, I worked many times with George. I considered it an honor to have known him and to have called him my friend. Most of the equipment I use came from Rody's music and I still rely on them today. I will miss George Rody very much. Our entire area has been musically enriched by what George Rody did for us all. My deepest sympathies to the family, Mike Miller

My heart breaks for the Rody family. Love and prayers to all of you. I have such fond memories of Mr. Rody. My very first memories are of Rody's Music. I was just starting to take piano lessons at age 5, and my parents would take me by the store. Mr. Rody would stand by me with his contagious smile and listen while I played on each Grand piano. I also had the honor of playing in a Concert Recital at the Westin with professional pianists. I was 7 at the time. What an amazing experience! I recently finished PA school and was reunited with Mr. Rody in my office; I had not seen him in 20 years. I will never forget our visits over this past year. I loved him dearly. He was always positive and always smiling. Rest in peace, Mr. Rody. I look forward to the day we meet again.

Young and barely out of highschool, the only job I had ever held before was cleaning dishes in a japanese restaurant. I played music for tips at a local coffee shop and George gave me a start in the local scene with a job delivering pianos. I worked for Rody's Music twice totaling nearly two years and learned soooo much from George who was gracious enough to attempt to teach a hard-headed kid like me. George was a great friend to Savannah musicians, helping us in any way he possibly could for many years. The days of leaving for work at 7:30AM at Rody's Music on Mall Blvd. will always be some of my favorites memories. Much love to George and God Bless the entire Rody's Family.

May George, by the mercy of God, rest in peace. The Lord knows he fought the good fight and finished the race. What great memories I have of growing up with George and James and knowing their parents - great memories of The Rogues winning the Battle of the Bands in the old ice skating arena off of Pennsylvania Avenue, band practices at Gary Pearson's house on Victory Drive, filling in as The Rogues bass player when I was home from school, George's putting my seven year-old daughter Anne, now 27, in the Celebrity Showcase Piano Concert at The Westin Hotel on Hilton Head Island, and many good times through the years just keeping in touch and reminiscing about our wonderful memories growing up in Savannah. Rest in peace, my old friend. We will all be together again one day in our Father's Heavenly Kingdom.
