Evelyn Hamilton Davis, 89, died Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Bryan County Nursing Home. She was born in Clyde, Georgia, daughter of Clark T. and Margaret Fisher Hamilton. Mrs. Davis was retired after 36 years of service from Southern States Phosphate and Fertilizer Company. She was a member of Silk Hope Baptist Church where she was a member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class, served as a Sunday school teacher, active in the Pairs and Spares Senior Program and a member of the National Secretaries Association. Her husband, Toy Davis preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-laws, Earl K. and Judy Davis of Pooler; R.C. and Darla Davis of Pooler; sister, Louise Thomas of Savannah; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Visitation: 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral: 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 22, 2011 in the Hodgson Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors. Service conducted by Rev. Edward P. Creel and Rev. Jonathan Phillips.
Burial: Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
