Hilda W. Miller
April 21, 1920 - September 22, 2011
HATTIESBURG, MS - Hilda W. Miller of Savannah died Sept. 22 at a nursing home in Mississippi. She was born in Manassas, GA to William Earl and Marion Wood Weatherly on April 21, 1920. She grew up in Claxton, but graduated high school in the state of New York. Predeceased by her first husband Albert Eckhoff, and second husband Richard Miller, Hilda is survived by her daughter Pamela Lindsay and son Michael Eckhoff.
Prior to marriage, Hilda worked as a civilian secretary for the Eighth Air Force during World War II. After her children were raised, she worked for the Engineering Dept. City Hall of Savannah in the 1970s and for Hilton Head's Island Packet in the 1980s.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 2:00 in Bonaventure Cemetery.
