Frances Harris Chastain, 83, died Monday, October 24, 2011 in Savannah, GA.

Mrs. Chastain was born in Tampa, FL on December 29, 1927, the daughter of the late Lewis James Harris and Anna Louise Harris. She was raised in Thunderbolt, GA and was a longtime member of Wesley Oaks United Methodist Church as well as a founding member of Islands Christian Church. Mrs. Chastain worked as a Cashier in the Service Department of Sears where she retired after 32 years of dedicated service. She was a member of the Good Sam Camping Club and a member of the Red Hat Society.

Mrs. Chastain was preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, Roy Chastain; sisters, Lillian Hinely, Kathryn Pritchard and Carolyn Collins and brother, J.R. "Sonny" Harris. She is survived by her children, Susan Brookshire Wayne of Savannah, GA, Emory Geiger, Jr. Elaine of Snellville, GA, Carey Geiger Betty of Savannah, GA, Cynthia Geiger of Gainesville, GA, Michael Chastain Joanne of Savannah, GA and Susan Jones Alan of Jacksonville, FL; sisters, Lila Bravard Bob of Lexington, KY, Rose Marie Bowen of Houston, TX and Linda Zeigler Jerry of Atlanta, GA; brother, John Harris Bonnie of Savannah, GA; 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 28, 2011 at Islands Christian Church with burial following at Bonaventure Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Barry Brookshire, Richard Brookshire, Kirk Brown, Gregory Brown, Zachary Brown, Holden Diller, James Lavin and Corey Chastain.
